Shocking stat to me, the longest serving coaches in NCAA D1 history (DD and SC men's soccer coach) have never won a NC. DD has won 2 sec's in her last two years, but will this finally be the year?

I have attended meets off and on for 20+ years and admit to not knowing how judges score things. Sure, I know a good from bad routine but not the 9.3 vs. 9.7 scores.

In any case, sure others (LSUALUM et al) can help here, what is outlook after being in top 6 last few years? How many of the D1 teams (50 or so total) have any chance and in the end is LSU one of the 5-6 who have any chance to win it all?

Thanks, sorry if I am German here

Gymnastics is a very subjective sport, which allows for more politics and bias to be involved. LSU should have won it a few times, but the "bluebloods" of the sport always get the benefit of the doubt. For LSU to win the national championship, they will have to blow programs like Oklahoma, Alabama, and UCLA out, which means they need to be close to perfect AND those programs (depending on which make the finals) need to struggle to the point where the average viewer can tell.

I hope so and then she turns it over to Jay.
I would love to see a 30 for 30 on Lexi if they win the Natty. What a great ending to a great career that would make.

Next years recruiting class is much stronger than this year and they are depending on more unproven athletes this year. Would think they have a better chance in 2020. Hoping Jay and family are happy and stick in BR, thats probably more of a factor than DD. Either way they are top 4 and have a chance if the cards fall right.

LSU was a title IX waste land for decades under DD as place holder/coach. When she hired the assistant from Georgia she was instantly elevated to great coach. DD has collect 40 years of checks and never earned a dime until she made a great hire.
