So my wife got me the 90 min swing evaluation at golf tec for Christmas. I have heard that they will try and get me to include that int a package.
I am about a 9-10 cap.
Are they worth doing to full 3 month or will I benefit enough in doing just the 90 min evaluation.

At a 9 handicap, they probably don’t need to build you a new swing. 90 minutes should give you enough info to go practice on your own.

Agree. At a 9 hcp you know what you're doing.

Being a single digit handicap, nobody is going mc to help you swing much better at all. You just need to learn course strategy l, better mental game and improve your short game. Full swings lessons are pretty much a waste for a single digit player

Because building a better, more consistent, or more powerful swing is useless. That’s why Tour players never utilize swing coaches.
He may be single digit because he’s a good putter and misses 10 greens a round

I received a gift for swing eval and 4 lessons a year ago. It’s not life changing but you will get a lot of info on your swing that may or may not help you. Being able to break down your swing on video and by using the electronics on your body position during the swing the way they do is a great learning experience and may show you something that you never realized you were doing wrong. It’s a great place to get fitted for clubs and practice by yourself in a room where you can hit and replay your swing while you evaluate it yourself. If it’s paid for then it’s def worth going do. If anything, it’s a great learning experience to watch your swing from different angles in slow mo.

I believe you are getting myself and the OP confused.

It all depends on the instructor. I did a set with a guy who used to teach at Golf Tec in Dallas. He had worked with Hunter Mahan when he was a junior. Took me from a 17 down to an 11, and most importantly, how to understand my swing.

You sound like you can't break 75.

I know you can’t based on your run to state net am. But whenever you're ready to step up and play...

So would GolfTec be good for someone that consistently shoots in the 100s and doesn't break double digits?

better course strategy like entering in a bunch of scores from the senior/ladies tees, getting handicap up, and playing in LGA Net Am??????????

I'm going for my swing eval tomorrow. I shoot anywhere between low 90's and 105 depending depending on if my swing is randomly playable that day or not. I'm sort of stuck between two swings, one that's nearly always a slice and one that's nearly always a hook. Never taken a lesson before... will report back after I shoot 75 this weekend.

Getting you swing on video is good for everyone who want to get better. For someone who wants to break 100, it’s a good place to start it be ready for them to want to “build you a swing” over several more sessions just like any pro would do.

What kind of improvement do you think is realistic?

You’ll get something out of it. Just seeing yourself on video is extremely helpful. Having a pro break it down helps double. You have to put in the work though.

It's not for me. Obviously.
It's for my friend.

The only negative thing I have to say is that it's extremely expensive (which you should already know going in). The videos are really cool where it shows the positions you're in and if they are hooking positions or slicing positions. You can also watch the videos of your lessons later which is nice, it all makes it pretty hard to dispute or disagree with anything they tell you you're doing wrong.
So for now, seems good to me. Just really, really expensive.
