Using this logic, not a single projected 1st or 2nd round draft eligible player on the 4 teams in the playoffs should be playing.

(just separate “bowl” with “championship”)

Skipping the playoff or NC would probably hurt his draft status.

The NFL has shown that it doesn’t care about skipping lower bowls.

Lol based on what? There's no precedent for that. There was all the talk that Mccaffrey would hurt his stock. It was unprecedented at the time. You have no idea what would happen.

If worried about injury, why not sit the season or half a season? Just train instead.

I'm pretty sure the NFL had enough film on him already.

I wouldn't disagree with you, at least for football.

I don't have the degree of irrationality that's needed to excel in football. We ask these guys to do what's irrational all the time for our entertainment. It's really pretty selfish when you think about it.

Greedy's making a rational decision here. I can't fault him for it.

So he has no other options for providing for a family? Pro ball is his only option? I say bullshite!

I swear some of you act like these players all end up on skid row if they can't play pro ball!

I guess getting a regular job is out of the question?

They risk injury the entire season and their entire career but one fricking bowl game is a bigger risk?

He fricking bailed on his teammates just like the rest of the no playing, selfish pussies who pass up bowl games!

I would support him if he decided to sit out the national championship. I don’t care what he does either. But I won’t criticize someone taking steps to protect his family financially.

It's not, but he did everything he could at LSU to get LSU in a position to play for a national championship. This game will not do anything to put LSU in a better position for a championship next year.

It's a pointless game

Ask Jaylon Smith if he would do things over again.

They have

But I’ve got zero issue with somebody doing they feel is in their personal best interest

Here's a crazy idea. Now, bear with me. OK... maybe every player comes from a different situation and has different motivations and different priorities which inform their decision making.

Greedy is taking care of his family, just like we all would do for our family. No one is going to give him millions of dollars to play in this game, but when he's a high draft pick he will, so enough said !!

It’s their own decision. If someone decided to skip the playoff I’d understand.

You have a list of players who have sat out playoff games to prep for the draft? That list is empty. That's what "unprecedented" means

If we claim to be DBU, then it's next man up. We should have enough horses in the stall to be able to compete. Simple as that.

No, but hes choosing the option that will get him over 20+ Million dollars.. you know, the better option, the better life.

No one is saying this.

Would you trade in your job to be a janitor at a High School?

The rewards don't outweigh the risk at this point. You play to win a championship. That's not happening. It could have theoretically happened if LSU beat A&M, but not anymore.

It's hilarious that the ones complaining are.. in fact.. not his teammates. It's fans.

The non playoff bowls are little more than glorified scrimmages.

It’s a smart decision not to play.
