I don't think I have ever seen the Dems cave on a issue. Is it possible that Trump will make them bend the knee and pass the Funding Bill? Does anyone remember the last time the Dems gave in to a Republican? This could be a truly historic occasion!

Kinda doubt it. Cults don't usually surrender easily

While they wait to act, perhaps they would enjoy some nice, refreshing Kool-Aid.

Cocaine Mitch is the only one left to cave. If DJT can strong arm him into blowing up the filibuster, he has a chance.

Even if he can convince Mitch, Flake and a few others would stop it.

I'm hopeful but I doubt it. They turned down the DACA+wall deal, why would they agree to a nothing+wall deal?

Expect another shutdown.

Even if some want to, they have reason to believe that they can paint this as a Trump/Republican shut down and they think that’s good for them. Some might think it’s not worth it, but not enough to break formation from Schumer and the “Republican shutdown” line of thinking.

Bills don’t carry over to the next Congress. Wall funding won’t make it out of a Democrat House, so if the government shuts down, we get to early next year, then they’ll take their chances that Trump won’t veto(or legitimately threaten) again or that they can get Republicans to get them to 67 votes.

Dems might cave if this was a year ago, or any other time the Republicans told Trump “not now”, but the clock all but assured the Dems won’t cave.

Cocaine Mitch kept promising Trump the Wall funding would get addressed and he would take care of it later. Well this is his last “later”. His only option are to go nuclear or magically get 9 Dems to abandon their leadership.

Very good analysis... I can definitely see this happening.. Trump and Senate Republicans just need to stand firm and we will support them through the shutdown. It's Dems time to cave!!

No way! Schumer and the rest of dem will never let Trump win anything. Even though this isn't about Trump winning, rather what is best for our country and our people! These people are insane!

What do the Dems have to gain by caving? The GOP is going to have to put something on the table that they want

Donald can't even find someone to be his Chief of Staff for frick's sake.

That's some next level dysfunction and incompetence.

Not since they got him on film saying, "I will take the mantle of shutting it down" and, "I will be the one to shut it down. I'm not going to blame you for it."

Pelosi warned him about negotiating in front of the cameras, but he's too arrogant to listen to someone who knows politics FAR better than he. All Pelosi had to do was make her cast and watch the cork. He made it too easy when he not only swallowed the hook, line and sinker, but he managed to get the cork in his fat mouth as well.

a break?

They're getting what they want if Trump shuts down the government. You didn't see it on TV. It was everywhere Trump was sitting in WH with Pelosi and Schumer. Then again today: Trump Threatens a Shutdown That Will ‘Last for a Very Long Time’

So (the ques is) who will the most people blame?

The Democrats ?
The Republican's ?
or
Donald Trump?

(etc: economy to government - as pointed out below)
