With the new developments at CB where do we go from here

With Jones possibly staying in Mississippi, Hampton possibly going the MLB route, and Flott waiting until February to see where he fits in where does that leave us at CB. Also have a lack of safety's in the last two classes will start to add up as well.

Flott looks to be signing today

Also have a chance to reset the board based on who doesnt sign with us or elsewhere today. January is when battles become more intense with fewer big timers left and also wherr those underrated kids start getting major offers. Have to change your board and reset.

Flott signed and we have Jay Ward and Christian Williams as targets if they feel they need another cb

Either Christian Williams or Jay Ward could join class at some point.
LSU needs 3 true corners to show up in August IMO.

Thankfully we got Flott...but this why I'm never big on passing over in-state kids like Bush. Never know when you might need to fall back on them.

Williams isnt the shoo in many thought previously. Bama people seem to think Auburn is his destination if not Bama and Bama may have room if they have some misses. Regardless neither are signing today so we can still take a look at kids still available and pick a guy or two we like and go after them

We probably shut down the program. Stingley will be sad.

If Flott signs and bails for MLB, we can't replace him in February

Flott doesn’t play baseball

Bush was so far down the list, though. I think it's much more important to maintain honest communication with in state kids than to have a backup to your backups backup.

The kid going to MS st looks better than Bush to me. Just smaller than we like.

(ETA: I'm thinking of somebody else - Raydar Jones is an ATH that could play Corner, WR and/or return man).
With Stingley, Hampton and Flott (ETA: And Jones), I think we're okay at corner for this class.

Good point. I think the best news would be Fulton back to full strength by Spring ball, Stingley looks completely ready to play day 1, and that means Joseph can move to his (more) natural position of Safety will help this - some.
The big offseason losses at Safety will be Battle and Paris (and the latter was either hurt, got passed up or both). We return Delpit (the best Safety in college football), Stevens, Monroe and Harris, which isn't a bad corps. Moving Joseph to Safety will give us at least 5 who have played, plus Cameron Lewis who played a little this year. If healthy, I'm comfortable with those 6. I don't know anything about the JUCO kid, Loftis, or the Nicholls transfer, Moore. I must assume they're not playing for a reason.
Problem is - for sure Delpit is gone after 2019. We will need at least 2, if not 3 safeties next year, for sure.

I'm not buying this. I'm not saying he flips from Bama, but if he does, it'll be to us (if we have room and push for him, which I'm sure we will).

I've been concerned about our safety depth. At the time, it didn't seem like losing Sterns last year was going to be a big deal, but man, how would he and Delpit look back there next year?
I thought I had read Hampton projects more as a safety than a corner, so I was really hoping he'd make it to campus for this reason. I know he's listed on 247 as a CB, but is that really where he's likely to play?
