Jurassic Park used practical effects.

What are you even arguing?

2018 is light years ahead 2003.

I'll just say this too, I don't get all the hate for the CGI in Black Panther. It wasn't incredible, but acting like it was really bad, I never felt like that. People underrate the complete creation of Wakanda from CGI and focus on the action effects too much.

The character models specifically.

It's terrible for modern CGI. We have better models during cutscenes in videogames.

Why wouldn't we focus on the action elements? That is the stuff you really need to nail.

Most of the moving shots of dinosaurs were CGI. The initial T Rex attack is about half and half. There are 63 total CGI shots in JP.

Heck, Lord of the Rings had a completely CGI character the same year the Scorpion King BS I posted happened. Tell me Gollum isn't light years ahead of the Scorpion King.

Beyond that, the character models got a bit video gameish, but they didn't bother me half as much as it looks like they did others. The CGI used to create Wakanda itself was pretty good, IMO, but like I said, I don't think being positive about Black Panther is too popular here.
