The Deaths Heads explains a lot. I had an opportunity to get behind the wheel of a race-ready Viper on a road track.

I have a good friend who is a very experienced road racer. I figured he would be interested in going along.

I called him and he said "not no but hell no." Apparently that car is well known for getting out of hand, spinning around and then shooting you off the course arse end first right into the wall at high speeds. Apparently some pretty good drivers have died in them.

I passed after talking to him.

Christopher Titus has a routine on some of the biggest frickups in his life.

Buying a Viper and wrecking it in the manner you described was pretty high up the list.

Edit - well, not exactly like you described but close. It flew out of control and went careening off the track into the desert on its side, IIRC, rather than plowing into a wall.
