For my Xbox... in the $100-200 range

The only real features I’m looking for are (1) sound quality and (2) I love having the ability to fluctuate the game/chat volumes on the fly from my controller.. not sure which models offer #2

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Haven’t bought a headset in about 6 years

TIA, and I apologize, I know y’all are tired of this thread

It’s only an investment if you make money off of it

I’ll give you $60

Everything you need in here

AKG K701/702 are the GOATs of gaming headphones

I'm wireless now though, and I've liked my Astro A50s a lot

I've seriously considered selling them and getting some Sennheiser while making a profit. Lol

I've got a turtle beach stealth 420x that I have loved. Haven't really had any issues with it. Has a volume wheel on the right earphone for chat volume and one for game volume so very easy to mix and match. Mute buttons as well. It is wireless, charge life has been good, no real issues with it running out of battery.

HyperX Cloud II

This is the one I recently purchased. I love it. It is the most comfortable headset I've owned so far. The only downside is that you can't toggle mute from the headset. You have to press the home button, then settings, then audio and click mute. It only takes a second to do that and it doesn't interrupt games, but it could still be easier. I mainly play PUBG with it. Sounds are crystal clear. They do have game/chat fluctuations in the audio settings that I mentioned.

I’ve grown accustomed to controlling all of that with my controller.. I’m not sure I’d be able to sacrifice that tbh

RIG 800 LX are about 150 regularly, but on sale for 120. I love mine to death. Have Dolby Atmos support, which it comes with a free code for. They’re extremely comfortable, with fantastic battery life. Really deep bass can give it some issues, but I’ve only ran into a couple of instances over the past 6 months or so where it crackled a little. I use them on my One X, as well as my PC.

Edit: Also have a flip down mic that you can just flip back up to toggle mute. Extremely convenient!

Nothing you need to worry about in a headset. Virtual surround sound is straight arse in all headsets

I had beyers DT 770s and 990s, loved them both (those aren't suitable for console gaming without an amp). Don't know much about the Custom Ones though

I found them on that link you posted if you wanted to check out their reviews... they scored pretty well

About the Custom Ones:

quote:

while it has been a long time since I've focused on audio, I can safely say that there isn't a headset I'd choose over the GAME ONE. Not the A40, not the PC360, none. It simply has everything I'd need for ALL home purposes. Musicality, bass without it being overly, fairly balance midrange and treble that isn't fatiguing, and amazingly spacious soundstage and positional accuracy, there is little to critique on the GAME ONE. The midrange isn't particularly a strength, but it isn't a detriment either, unless that is where you want to focus. For the main purpose of gaming, I feel the midrange is presented well enough to ever consider it a problem. If you're in search of fun headset with great sound quality, not much of a reason to search past the GAME ONE. It's equipped with all you need, really. I highly doubt many will find fault with it.
