This pisses me off more than anything to look at the box score and see a team missing foul shots.

Then you look at the score of the game, and the amount of points they lose by and usually they have missed double the margin of their loss.

These are 18-21 year dudes, that have played a game all their life with the goal to put a ball through a hoop. Then you allow them stand and shoot uncontested and they cant do it????

Can't shoot foul shots with 90-95% you don't play.

Then you’d have JJ redick and mark price playing against each other. FTs weren’t the issue tonight

We were 76% from the line which is very good for a college team, but we were 19% from 3 which is horrible for any team. However, our coach still managed to allow the team to shot 26 3's. That is why we lost OT free throw shooting

They came into the game shooting 73 percent that’s not bad for a college basketball team and I don’t think I saw them miss an engregious amount of foul shots tonight.

Free throws were far from the problem tonight.

Also very few people shoot 90+%...

It takes a very special touch to be able to do that

then there would not be a Basketball League ... and of course, you would have placed Shaquille on the bench.

LSU shoots about 72 % not a great %, but most very very good FT teams hover around 78%-80%

Yes, it needs improving but your % are waaaay out of line.

LSU missed 9 FTs, 29-38. UH missed 12, 26-38. Using your stupid logic of 90-95%, LSU still loses unless you think only LSU should shoot that ridiculous percentage.

FTs is one of the few things that's not a problem with this team.

Best part of this thread:

LSU was 29 of 38 for 76 percent at the free throw line last night.

90 percent of 38 is 34.2 so even if LSU made 90 percent of their free throws they would have had 5 more points and still lost by one so the OP’s logic that they lost because of free throws is flawed from the start.

There was so much wrong that happened last night, but statements like this show how dumb our fan base is when it comes to basketball.
