The other team shoots free throws also. If everyone is supposed to make 90% they would still lose because they can’t rebound and keep people out of the paint on defense!

By those standards every player should be Lebron or mj or they sit the bench.

LSU missed 9 FTs, 29-38. UH missed 12, 26-38. Using your stupid logic of 90-95%, LSU still loses unless you think only LSU should shoot that ridiculous percentage.

FTs is one of the few things that's not a problem with this team.

Actually, by the OP’s standards, both would be riding the bench

OP’s standard there should have only had about 5 players be able to play in the history of basketball.

It is not so much your overall percentage but when you make them. In a close game they are very important in determine the winner at the end of the game. A miss or make on free throws can change the last minute strategy. Tremont cost us the Florida State game by missing a late free throw that would have iced the win for us.

Best part of this thread:

LSU was 29 of 38 for 76 percent at the free throw line last night.

90 percent of 38 is 34.2 so even if LSU made 90 percent of their free throws they would have had 5 more points and still lost by one so the OP’s logic that they lost because of free throws is flawed from the start.

Can't shoot foul shots with 90-95% you don't play.

There was so much wrong that happened last night, but statements like this show how dumb our fan base is when it comes to basketball.

First of all we shot 76%. We would have needed 7 more free throws to win that game which would have been expecting them to make 36 out of 38 free throws or 95%. I doubt there has been a game in the history of basketball where a team made 95% free throws with at least 38 taken. So to have that expectation is beyond ridiculous.
