Going to be there next weekend for the Saints/Steelers game and want some recommendations. We usually go to Royal House, but wanted to try something new. Are Drago's charbroiled as good as advertised? Would like a place that has both good charbroiled and raw. Geaux Saints!

I find Drago's has the best charbroiled. Try Casamento's on Magazine, a old classic oyster house. Their raw are top notch and it's a cool old place (been around since early 1900's).

If in the French Quarter, you have Acme and Felix's which are right across the street from each other. Acme is the better known of the two but Felix's is just as good from my experience and easier to get into.

They both offer raw and charbroiled oysters with no real difference in pricing. Raw is $16 a dozen and charbroiled are $21 a dozen.

Felix’s for raw boys. Dragos for chargrilled. Superior Seafood 4-6:30 has .50 raw oysters... hard to beat

Drago's lives up to the hype..
For raw I love cooter browns...the oyster's themselves are nothing special I guess...but I just love the place, and I think it's awesome they shuck raw oysters at the bar.

In the French Quarter I would go to Felix's or Bourbon House.

Drago's gets the best oysters and does the best job charbroiling them. My favorite oyster bar is at the Bourbon House next door to the Acme.

Wife and I went to Acme when in NOLA and I've never felt more like a head of cattle at a restaurant. Herd you in, feed you as quickly as possible, and herd you out. Tourist trap, basically.

I wish I'd known about this board before we took our trip.

They do have another outlet on Veteran's Blvd. between Bonnabel and Causeway on the south side of the road near the Rouses supermarket. I've never been to that one but assume it is not near as crowded as their French Quarter location.

So I've read a few comments saying that they have been running out of chargrilled oysters at Drago's? We won't be getting to the restaurant until around 8-8:30 Saturday night. Think we'll have an issue?
