Never realized we had so many Cousins defenders on here.

If Kirk was LSUs starter we only lose to Alabama 29-7

Smith didn't blow the game with dumb plays and at least gave us a chance.

not for 84 million over 3 years all guaranteed

we were in first and 3 games over .500 with Smith

Kirk would have this team at 6-7 if he was leading it all year.

Will Cousins get Zimmer fired?

How’s Washington’s qb depth chart looking, baw?

About the same as it would like if Kirk Cousins had 1 leg?

If Kirk Was still our QB we would’ve lost both games against the Giants this season. And we still would’ve lost the Eagles game. We would’ve lost the other Cowboys game too seeing as how he’s never beaten them. He’s a chump in every sense of the word.

Alex Smith is a top 20 QB so it's not like you replaced Cousins with a complete stiff.

Smith actually fit this year's version of the Redskins better than Cousins did. Safe and steady would have won the division if not for all the injuries and Cooper turning into prime Jerry Rice once he donned the star.

We likely make the playoffs as the sixth seed with Alex this year. Would’ve beat the Giants and in control of our own destiny.

Does Will Grier fall to 10th?

I think that kid will be a really solid pro QB.

This is a terrible QB draft (and they’ll pick around 10 so won’t get a shot at the best ones anyway).

I don't really agree with this. There aren't huge names, but there are 3-4 very solid prospects.

Lock, Grier, Herbert, Finley, Jones, and Haskins.

I really like Grier. He is a winner and can make all the throws. He's shown he can excel in 2 completely different systems as well.

He's 6'2", 225, decent athleticism and good arm strength. He doesn't have any glaring holes.

I'm not totally convinced of this. The Skins' defense was getting torched in the weeks leading up to Smith's injury and the Eagles and Giants have both been on an upswing in the latter half of the season.

What do you think of Gruden and the hot seat? I'm in a spirited thread on the CC board about him being on the hot seat at minimum, but everyone else is arguing the injuries couldn't be helped and he shouldn't be canned. While the injuries certainly aren't his fault, there are deep-seated problems that go back further than 4 weeks ago.

Washington paid Alex Smith $40 million in guanrateed money this year and owes him another $15 million next year, despite the fact that he’ll never play another down in the NFL.

Next year you’ll feel differently

Yep the Skins in hindsight would have been better off signing "Kurt" to a fair market contact 4 years ago. They'd be 75% through it by now and would have had far fewer distractions and greater continuity.

This is just false, Washington is paying Alex Smith more this year than Minnesota is paying Cousins. The overall contracts are $55 million guaranteed for 2 years vs $85 million guaranteed for 3 years. The major difference is Washington is now paying all that money to a player who will never play for them again.

If you’re going to sit here and tell me you wouldn’t trade QB situations with Minnesota it’s purely out of pride. Refusing to swap an average QB about to enter medical retirement for an average QB with 10 years left over 1 year and $30 million is insanity. The Redskins franchise is dead in the water for the foreseeable future now.

Yep, Dallas is most likely about to sign Prescott to a 4-5 year deal worth $21-25 million per year. Why? Because that’s the going rate for average QBs and winning 9+ games every year with an overpaid QB is much better than paying Colt McCoy several million to go 3-13.

Hell he might fall to the 2nd round

draft Brown from OU in the first and Grier in the 2nd round would be amazing

If he retires we still pay him but i don't think we take the cap hit for it or at least get back some of it. Due to injury forcing him to retire.

The Skins are fricked if they cut him next year as we take a 42 million hit just for one season and moving on after that no hit.
