I’m sitting in the ER waiting room as my dad is in a holding area with a brain bleed (ct done at local hospital and send to a bigger hospital). .

If they've done a CT scan and have verified the bleed, they should get him in asap. My mom had a stroke last year this time and was rushed to the ER and they did a CT scan, verified the bleed, but had to wait for an operating room. She is now paralyzed on half her body and lives in a nursing home, due to having to wait.

Praying they get to him fast.

Because ERs are fast, friendly, and free. Urgent cares do a great job of collecting copays. ERs are scared to death to do that.

True emergency room story : I was waiting in the emergency room one evening to be sewn up after being cut up. A car full of soul brothers pulled up. They pulled a skinny women out of the back seat and carried her in shouting “ been a shooting, been a shooting”. ( the women wasn’t shouting). They put her on a gurney and cur her clothe off while looking for a gunshot wound. They asked the people “where was she shot “. They replied “ not her, she passed out when her sister shot herself, said the sister was daid so they brought the one that passed out.

When I worked in LC. We had a “gang” fight. They said we got a gunshot wound to the lower extremity. He had one pellet in his foot.

Some gangbanger he was.

Patients will also use fake names/addresses in ER so they wont get a bill

Against the law to require photo ID in ER

You can thank the pieces of shite who clog up ERs with bullshite for the costs of healthcare. None of them will pay a dime, so you will be charged more to make up for it.

Agreed, although the longer they let it go, the bigger it can get and put more pressure on the brain, causing more damage.
Not a real lol matter IMO.

Id have to know more about it.

If the bleed is actually in the brain there isnt much they can do about it other than control blood pressure.

If it is around the brain compressing it then yeah they can decompress it but a wait of a few hours probably wont matter too much

SOOOO many kids end up coming from the ER for Motrin/ Tylenol for a fever and that's it... something they could've easily bought over the counter, yet the moms will wait for hours in the ER for an Rx for it so it can be billed on Medicaid... fo' free

I love telling these types no

Sorry ma’am it’s over the counter.

I mean seriously if they say they can’t afford it but still buy their cigarettes that day then I don’t have any pity for them.

Having better access to primary care would be nice. It’s a part of why people go to the ER. “I tried calling my doctors office and no one picked up.” “I’m out of my meds and no one responded to my refill request.” “I have these new symptoms and they couldn’t get me in for another four months.”

I have sympathy for stuff like that and wish there was more incentive for primary care providers to see Medicare/Medicaid patients.
