I've seen different takes on twitter regarding this.

Wondering if anyone here is preventing starting Samuels as a TE, since he's always played as an RB.

If Yahoo has him eligible, then he should be eligible...end of story

As someone who has to play against Samuels in the TE slot, to not allow it is ridiculous. If that’s how he’s designated, that’s how he should be played. I’m not happy about it, but that’s the way it should be.

That’s doing too much, IMO. If Yahoo says he can play tight end, he can play tight end on that site

Unless you have predetermined rules, your league show play by the law of the platform.

TY Montgomery was a RB/WR 2 years ago

Because he played both positions.

The difference is that Samuels hasn't played a snap of TE in his career and yahoo is the only site listing him as a TE. So it basically looks like they fricked up

That's why I can see it both ways

He worked out with the TEs at the combine as well as playing some H Back/TE at NC State. It isn’t a “frick up” as much as it is Pitt using in a different role than he was thought to occupy coming into the season. It is what it is

I just picked him up in my league and he is in my TE spot. I just hope it pans out for me cause I’m sitting Kittle.

The Steelers drafted him with the intention of him playing RB and he practiced their from day one. What he entered the league in the combine isn’t pertinent. Yahoo never should have given him dual eligibility because he never had two positions. This isn’t like a mccluster situation where he legit played both but was forced into a bigger role due to injury. Yahoo is the only platform giving him this. Yahoo’s position on this is flat out wrong.

That being said, if they don’t fix it then you have to go with it I guess

I agree with you. Yahoo is wrong. But as long as that’s how he’s designated, I can’t fault my opponent for playing within the rules.

You can’t change it now & it’s not fair if yahoo does either

Meh....I think they should have to fix errors used to exploit a glitch. Never should have had the distinction. I get some picked him up hoping to exploit this loop hole, doesn’t mean they should be rewarded for it. Play him at the position he’s been designated at from the start

Marques Colston was listed as a TE his rookie year. It was awesome.

So far I've dropped Samuels, Lamar and Blount all before they blew up. I need to learn patience.

I think it’s bullshite that he’s listed as a TE when no other fantasy app has him listed that way. Whatver lucky bastard that gets him can have essentially a RB at TE. Doesn’t seem fair.

I'll fight the good fight and not start Samuel as a TE. I've got Ertz there instead

Agreed it’s essentially allowing a cheat code but they aren’t going to fix it. Best you can hope for is that it blows up in your opponent’s face and Samuels has much less of a role than anticipated

This is when using a free service means you get what you pay for. I'm in two leagues, one we pay CBS (Commissioner League) for and the other is Yahoo which we do for free. CBS is on top of their game and puts effort into making sure things like this are legit. Yahoo clearly just does the basics and this type of thing is what free sites don't care to fix.

That being said, we are going with what both sites have him listed as. It would not be fair to change what the site has him designated as unless, as a previous poster stated, your league has this type of situation written in their rules.

I went ahead and sent Yahoo a note about how they were wrong. Thought it was worth a shot.
