But wait, you really don't think a then 9th ranked LSU team would find their way into the present CFB playoff? 
You realize LSU is ranked 11th this year and got in, right?

Why do you keep harping on the 2012 season only? 2013 had a better win and equal W-L record and played in the Capital One Bowl. Finished the season 10-3 and ranked 16th.
Was the season worse than 2018 too? Would they have made a NY6 bowl in 2018?
