We struggled to run against SELU and LaTech.

Why will we run all over these guys?

Not really. We rushed for 5.3 and 4.5 yards/att against SELU and LaTech. Both of those were above our average of 4.1 yards/att on the season.

Did we blow the doors off those teams running the ball? No, but we also didn't struggle to run.

And, LaTech is ranked 50 spots higher against the run than UCF. LaTech gives up about 160 rush yards per game. UCF gives up about 210.

We should be able to run the ball on them and control the clock.

imo, it would be a mistake to have a game plan that is very run heavy. UCF is capable of slowing that down with the present state of our OL and RB's. hell, SE and LaTech did.

I hope we approach our offense plan with both passing and running. if we start out throwing the ball AND succeeding I guarantee that it will open up the run game big time. if we start off running and they load the box and we have blah results it will be a long game and will come down to the wire.

we are LSU; we don't need to shorten this game with game stall tactics.

Problem is, we have a history of making bad defences look great.

It's this kind of bravado that leads to upsets.

They are bad against the run. There's no two ways about it. I'm not saying you come out lined up in the i-formation and run the ball 75% of the time, but it would be silly for us to not lean on the run game and keep the ball out of their offense's hands and keep our defense fresh.

A fresh LSU defense will get some stops.

Bruh... do you read the rant? If not then NEWSFLASH, the fans are screaming that the bowl game doesn't matter.

If nothing else, his performance vs. A&M has earned him some carries. He's the only guy of the 3 who has shown a good burst. He should get at least 10 carries in the game.

Didn't you hear? He's the new "good - not great" back for 2019. It won't happen.

In all seriousness, I agree. I would like to see about 15 carries from him or 20 touches.

The O Line has been hot and cold this year and shuffled a ton. That said, once they got A&M worn down a bit, they ran for a shitload more yards that they average giving up, and that was just in regulation. They were the top run D in the SEC and one of the best in the country. We also squeezed out just enough vs State, another great D Line.

With everyone healthy, they will open big holes in the UCF front. They had to bring their safeties up in the box to stop Memphis in the second half of both games. Memphis just couldnt pass reliably enough to take advantage. If the Burrow who played A&M shows up, LSU will be able to kill them with play action. UCF will get abused when they do this against the Tigers.

They have a habit of sleepwalking through first halves, even in big games. See both Memphis games. If LSU jumps on them early, they aren’t coming back.

In order for the SEC & LSU to really look GOOD in the eyes of the nation, media, etc. -- the TIGERS must beat the spread, and if at all possible -- BLOW UCF out.

Otherwise, UCF losing in a close game, still retains their "we belong with the BIG boys" attitude....

I would be more concerned about LSU defense than offense.

Not disagreeing, but that may be the 1st time those were were written in that order in several years.

...and still managed to go undefeated.

*We're 1-3 against teams that ran for 200+ yards. We gave up 234 to A&M, 281 to Bama, 201 to MSU and 215 to Florida.

*UCF offense is averaging 200 yards on the ground.

LSU may go uptempo and go with more QB runs, which will wear out UCF's defense. The LSU will own 4th quarter. 45-24 tigers.

Kinda of agree Grandad. Tho the Memphis back got over 200 first half UCF made adjustments and he got 8 yards second half. I think we will have to throw some to prevent them stacking the line
