That's a stupid reason. Wouldn't an undefeated UCF have earned a right to play close to home? UCF/Florida would have had more regional interest in the battle for state dominance.
If that's the case then I would rather play Mich in the Peach than UCF in the Fiesta.

They played in the Peach Bowl last year, perhaps their fans and the Peach Bowl which has had Group of 5 teams twice in 4 years wanted a different venue
