It seems everyone in the SEC are signing elite DEs- except us. Do we need to sign one?

If it helps, you'll be getting Chiasson and Divinity back next year.

Meatball met with Stripling. It's going to be an interesting sprint to the signing day.

How was our DL coach not able to get in on all those DEs from MS?? Those schools aren't performing well at all. They will never be where LSU could be so why not come play at LSU.
You wouldn't think it would be all that difficult to come up with a recruiting pitch that would convince those guys where their future should be. We've had a few successful MS guys also. Between North LA, Central LA, Southern LA, Houston area, Beaumont area, Dallas area, Mississippi area and around Memphis this front seven and OL should never be without great talent and depth to go with it. It just shouldn't.
We should have our best and brightest recruiters out there recruiting these positions. Some type of tactic changes need to be made so we are more successful at positions that are of need and importance or LSU hasn't got a history of landing, like that elite NFL QB.

You can have the greatest pitch in the world when it comes to these MS recruits but if you’re not coming with that bag on signing day it doesn’t matter

I guess so but I think I could convince them that they wouldn't have to worry about money during school and after 3 years at LSU their names would be all over NFL boards. That bag of money is much more valuable and sustainable then any bag they would get in college.

I'm sure these kids carefully consider , should I take a $400 stipend , or go get a Charger, choice of cheerleaders, off shore bank accounts , high paying jobs I would never hit a lick at . That should sound about right , & the proof is in the pudding. And what the hell is Hugh "Mr Probation" Freeze thinking to ask the SEC big guys could he be allowed, and therefore CHEAT his arse off. What a joke.

Chiasson is not a DE.
OP is right ! We have a 4-3 DE playing in a 3-4 scheme.
Marcus spears was the perfect defense End.
6'4 300 lbs

Huh? All of our defensive ends were around or over 300 pounds. Lawrence, Feheko, Logan, Farrell, Thomas. Which one of these are you saying isn't a good size for a DE?
