I got the flu shot, but typically I don't unless it's a nasty season, like the current one.
That said, Vaccinating your children and getting the flu shot is comparing apples to oranges

You're absolutely right.
Before the measles vaccine, about 500 Americans a year would die from it.
The CDC says so.
The flu kills over 12,000 Americans per year.
The CDC again with their pesky facts.
It's no contest, really.
