Have you tried splitting 2.4ghz bands and 5ghz bands then putting each on a frequency that doesn't have much interference from other neighboring networks?
Is this a difficult process?
I'm not necessarily tech savvy, but pretty good at figuring things out.

Give me your current router make and model.
Usually it's a matter of a handful of drop-down menus. I'll read up and see if I can find a guide and if not try to walk you through it
Some can't do it at alto start without further help, Google "my router (but your make/model) set 2.4ghz channel"
Set the 2.4ghz to 20mHz band on 1, 6, or 11.
Set the 5ghz band to a width of 80. In a house, you likely can choose anything but can play around with it and speed test, speedtest, speed test until you find the fastest one
Probably easier than describing how to do a scan which your hardware may or may not support.
