To be honest, this is exactly the kind of simplistic thinking that the selection committee was created to avoid. Sure, Oklahoma only has one loss. They also haven't had to play Alabama--who has blown out literally EVERYONE they have played (seriously, their lowest margin of victory is 22 points). Oklahoma has exactly ONE win against a ranked opponent--59-56 yesterday against West Virginia. They also have VERY close calls against unranked Army, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma State. Their points allowed over the last four weeks are 46, 47, 40, and 56--and that includes a game against KANSAS! What about that resume screams "greatness?"

LSU, by contrast, has dominant wins against the #5 and #18 teams in the country, and plays at the #22 team tonight. Only one of our wins (at Auburn) was in any way a "close call."

Of course, all of this is moot if we lose tonight. I'm just not buying that Oklahoma is automatically better because they put up video game yardage totals in a Big 12 where the defenses are embarrassing, and because we have the misfortune of being in the same division as Alabama.

Such outdated, brainwashed thinking

I guess 10-1 Utah State should be ahead of us too huh?
