And the worst part of it, is that your argument doesn’t NEED them. You could say these are the reasons I think Kareem is the greatest, despite Lebron’s greatness and no rational person should find that outrageous.
But nope, you just couldn’t help but waste those facts and let other relevant facts fail to make it to the debate.

Greatest stat-padder of all-time.

Pretty good post, although most wont tell you that.
As the green light for 3 pointers has turned into the Autobahn, in 10 years or so some really great player is going to pass some of these all time greats and maybe gets thrown into the goat conversation.
Kareem made one 3 pointer in his career.imagine if he came up training for them like today’s bigs. Players 20 seasons. Not in today’s travel friendly sports medicine marvelous world. In the 70s and 80s. Plus 4 years of college.
Point being, inflation exists when it comes to stats, comparing peers is way more accurate than comparing players from different eras.

the point went over your head, LeBron, Kareem etc., are just player “X” in the arguement, though he wouldn’t have the freedom to do a lot of what he does. And for his first decade, the 3k points he scored shooting 3s would only be 2s...but that’s situational obviously. Stats are inflated, son, that’s the point. This generation has an insane advantage in sports medicine and data.
Don’t be a routine fanboy.

No it didn’t. Doesn’t matter the era, or what we Kareem was in, Lebron would still break scoring records.

Wow, what an asinine statement.
LeBron as great as he is and he’s an all timer...his body wouldn’t even be the same in the 70s. His skills training wouldn’t be the same. His recovery methods would be different if at all. His steroids would be less advanced (kidding)...I never said he wouldn’t be great in the 70s, but he wouldn’t be the same player. So to say he would have as many points (as you ignore the 3 point inflation) is to be obtuse.
Like Shaq said if he was coming up today, they’d have him at SF.now that’s a slight exaggeration but the point stands.
Understanding the difference is key to watching the game today with proper perspective.
In 20 years when they add the 4 point line you might get it and say “Thanos was right”

Real Laker fan's are not excited by this only titles

See Kobe.
Shite, if Kareem hadn't gone to College...he'd be even more untouchable.
He spent 4 years in college (he wasn't allowed to play as a freshman)...and amassed 2,325 points.
He averaged 774 points a year during his career, so Kareem would have had at least 3,096 career college points...making him between #6 on the all-time college scoring list.
Add those years to some varying degree to the NBA and Kareem would be 6,000 points above everyone else.
And LeBron would have to play 8 more years from what he averages per year to surpass Kareem.
Let that sink in.
And if people say, oh we don't know if he'd amassed those points right away in the NBA...
He as Rookie of the Year, All-Star his first year in the NBA.
His freshman year at UCLA, his freshman team defeated the NCAA champion UCLA Varsity team...which won the title again the next year.
He almost never lost a game in college, was POY 3 straight years (would have been 4 if he was allowed to play) and won 3 straight national titles (would have been 4 if he had been allowed to play.)
Did they even play real basketball back then?
