I’m bringing family that includes 8 and 6 year old. Just looking for tips on spots to see, restaurants(day before and for the day of), tailgating options and just anything you feel would be informative
Thanks in advance for any help
Staring our annual road trip game

Also would you recommend sitting in non LSU sections or no

In spite of the teasing, A&M is a classy group of fans. You will surely get some hazing if you sit in their section, but you will probably be pleasantly surprised by their manners.

Best fans in the SEC to away fans. They are gracious in defeat.

Band is fantastic.

I will never go to Tuscaloosa or Gainesville because of the fans, but would not hesitate to go to College Station.

From watching their games on the TV, people have definitely been to an A&M game.

It’s a boring atmosphere compared to most of the SEC.

What? Apparently you have never been to a game there. It’s actually one of the best stadium experiences for any road game in the SEC. And, despite all the back and forth about Aggie jokes, etc., 99% of their fans are all class.

Have been there several times. Wife has b.c a bunch of aggie alumni friends that we visit.
Any seats in the south endzone arent bad. Always lots of lsu fans there.
Stop at the dixie chicken. Maybe not at night with kids but during the day isnt bad. Quite a few good bbq places around town too.
Take photos at the war hymm memorial.

I've been several times. I would definitely describe it as different, but I would almost certainly not use the desciptor 'boring'.

And contrary to popular belief, you will be treated well. They are a strange, but classy group of fans.

I never have a bad word about the gays. they're good people.

jokes aside, aggies are good people. one of the better away venues in the country in terms of class and tradition.

No issues with sitting in Aggie sections with kids. You may get the 1 in 100 a-hole that's drunk and throws F'bombs... but for sure it is not the norm.

Pre-game their band and all members of the Corps of Cadets do a March in. It's different than an LSU environment, but something to see, if you have not.
Their "Union" is called the MSC... its across from the stadium. It is a tribute to the men and women that have served and died in the military services. Respectfully remove your hat inside.

Their pregame band and halftime performance is always the same, never changes. But it is impressive synchronized marching.

Enjoy it.

From what i hear, bad place to go for an away game. No drinking on campus so tailgating is off campus. Be glad its cold because field and stadium are hotter that hell, and hopefully they have upgraded the old part of the stadium with the expansion because the place was a dump. Also, hope they have solved the bat problem they have there. Supposedly they are protected and can nest there for ever!

Absolutely not correct. There is plenty of drinking on campus. Its a great friendly tailgate. We usually tailgate around Reed arena with aTm fans. Its not the wild party type of tailgating but its a fun and friendly group. Walk to the Dixie chicken and have a few beers at the small bars near it. Very kid friendly.

Went to one back in the early 90s. It was awful but that had more to do with Curly.

I live in Waco, TX and have a few friends down is CS and have been to two Tiger games there. College Station is really growing up into a decent little city. A ton of good restaurant choices. If you are looking for good ole, slow smoked Texas BBQ, Martin's Place in Bryan is one of the best I've had thus far in Texas. Fargo's gets all the press but that's pit BBQ and IMO not true Texas BBQ. Brisket sucks at Fargo's. Other meats are fine.

The tailgate scene isn't what you would be used to. I would say it is the only thing aTm is lacking/still Big 12 like. I've been to bedlam, the red river rivalry, and a few Baylor games and these people just don't know what tailgating really is. Spoiled by the best in the land, I know.

George Bush presidential library is cool if you have spare time.

As other's have said, the in-stadium experience is pretty cool and unique. Part of the reason aTm gets the "cult" label is bc inside the stadium, the cadets, the band, and the fans are all 1. They do cheers that are so in sync you would think they were all 1 mind. Not for everyone, but I thought it was pretty cool. Band is cool. Yell leaders...meh lol.

Don't step on the grass in certain areas of campus. For reals. As long as you avoid that, you will find some of the best true hospitable folks there are. Howdy, y'all is a fair slogan for them.

Hope this helps. Hope y'all have a memorable trip and I can't wait till my little 9 month old man is ready for his first road trip to see the Tigers play down the road.
