I don't think the priests molesting boys are going to be fixed by marriage.

What happens when a priest's wife files for divorce?

Yeah because when my wife passed away the first thing I did was find a teenaged boy to meet my needs.

IMHO I don’t think marriage is the answer. If they want sex with adults they could find prostitutes male or female.
The fact that they prey on young children that really don’t know what’s going on means they are really evil.
The children were I’m sure raised that if there’s anyone you can trust it would be a priest.
Wrong answer.

The majority of sexual assaults are committed by married and divorced adults. Only about a third are committed by adults that have never married.

If you’re trying to address the fetish of pedophilia, I doubt enabling more marriage in the clergy would move the needle. People with that fetish are drawn to jobs that give them access to children. This unfortunately includes every youth oriented organization and organizations that carve out unique roles for children within their organization.

If you start allowing married and divorced adults to be priests, you’re just going to invite more married and divorced pedophiles in who were previously filtered out.

I honestly have not seen any data which suggests the Catholic Church has higher rates of sex abuse than any other religion. But if someone has this kind of data to share, I’d like to see it.
