For boating in the winter I highly suggest a float coat. They are SUPER warm and you always have your PFD on
this x infinity. lots of guys go this route here in arkansas, most everyone in my group. i don't have one yet, but its on my "need to purchase" list

Just horrible to hear of......wear your f-in PFD headed out to the blind, MS River or otherwise.
I can see not wearing in some lil marsh canals that are 2 feet deep from boat house to blind, but outside of that it's just not worth it.
Kill cord and life jacket for me; only took one time finding a (dead) guy dragging behind his own flat boat in circles to convince me. We have a long, winding boat ride through the marsh to and from blind.

Reports are they found the body late yesterday
From my understanding no body has been found. Is there a link or anything to this report?

Wed-Thurs it should pop up, this from a marine patrol with sheriffs office. Usually, they will be very close to where they were last sighted or went down.

That’s assuming he sank though. As said if he had on neoprene waders he could have drown and never sank.

he'd still sink dead just like no waders...waders don't make you float - neutral buoyancy.... once you take a belly and lungs full of water - you go under - you buoyancy is negative at that point.

This was in the Mississippi River right. Then there's no telling how far downstream the current carried the body.

Kinda surprised the OB hasn't had the guys name out here yet.

Not sure about that. I know when asked where they were from Pensacola was said. They also had Florida tags on truck

They are from Pensacola. Friends of my family. Very tragic. The missing was a great guy. Worked on some projects of mine. Had a bright future ahead of him. Tough to swallow.
