If a candidate came out and said that they think "insert race/religion/sexual orientation here" should all be rounded up, placed in camps and/or euthanized, would you vote for them to be your representative? Using your logic that shouldn't influence your vote at all, since the scenario will never happen. Most people would and should be disgusted and would eliminate them from personal consideration.

People could be pro-choice for different personal reasons that no one would understand until you heard that person explain it to you. The first reason that comes to mind is rape. If someone is raped and gets pregnant it's not my call to say they should keep it or not.

I don't think my personal views should dictate to others what they can or can't do.

And I don't really care if a candidate is pro-life or pro-choice. In general, I am against abortion, but if a candidate isn't, that doesn't affect their ability to serve in the position they are running on.

My point is this: why pick a topic that you know the candidate won’t change as your primary reason for voting that way? Pick something else.
