We all know beyond the shadow of any doubt that this scheme Ensminger is running cannot compete with Sabambam's D, not now not ever. We're also pretty sure we cannot run the rest of the table with this thing either. I mean look at the Florida game. We did sneak by at Auburn. But let's face it Ensminger's play calling ain't gonna be yielding any comfortable leads on the road in the SEC, except maybe Arkansas. I think at 11 & 2 everyone just sort of forgets this 1970's, zero creativity offense until it bites our arse again next season. But what about at 10 & 3 ? How about 9 & 4 ? Based on being a top 10 team, I have to believe either of these scenarios is unacceptable. Both are a collapse in my book. And please don't think for one minute I'm one of them bastards wanting losses. Hell no! I want 11 & 2, but I also want a big time O.C. But I'm afraid we ain't gonna get one at 11 & 2.

We learned this with miles. He put up a lot of wins but it’s hard to win hardware with an incompetent offense.

Yes. It’s the LSU way. Bonus for O because he talks like us.

Of course it does. 11-2 with a NY6 bowl game in a year everybody predicted 6-6.

11-2 will get O a raise.

yep this resembles a les miles season. Very good year due to defense and special teams but a horrific offense. Nothing’s changed

Well to be fair one thing has changed. No more epic game management blunders. There are minor issues here and there but the game and clock management has improved considerably.

When is the last time LSU won 11 games? Regardless LSU winning 11 games means the program is headed in the right direction

Agree it shouldn't. 2016 and 2018 versus bama should be all the evidence needed, not to mention ranking near the bottom in all offensive categories. So what will O do in a proactive sense? send ensminger to New England and back to the saints to study those schemes. Well that is not going to cut it. Ensminger is who we thought he was!

The brains of our offense is not in the top 100 college offense minds. We need someone in the top 10, maybe top 5. We won a championship with Jimbo Fisher. He was a high level brain. We fell arse backwards into a championship with Crowten. He was considered a high offensive mind at one time. Miles prob screwed him over. Ensminger prob isn't good enough to be on the staff if we're being honest.

You must have missed the end of the first half, we allowed them enough time to score a td

Oh I agree that game has me worried sick. Jimbob circled that game when he was hired. Plus, those guys can play with most anybody except sabambam.

We drop that game, though, I believe our fan base may turn on O (again).

I'm on record as hating the Ensminger hire.

But, what were your realistic expectations heading into the season given:

Replacing OC
Replacing QB
Replacing 3 OL
Replacing starting RB
Replacing both starting WRs

I think the reality (good or bad) is that Ensminger hasn't been able to install his full offense yet. Personally, I thought that his ability to get it installed would be his downfall. I attributed his inefficiency in that regard to him not being a coordinator at all in the recent past, and him trying to install things (RPO) that he's never installed before.

However, that fact hasn't hurt us to the expected level. We've navigated around that. So, the real question now is, what is the likelihood that he can get it installed between now and next year. If Ensminger's weakness was his ability to efficiently install his offense and the 11 and 2 buys him the time he needs to install it, maybe that's a good thing?

I never would have hired Ensminger. But, at this point, unless we have someone like Freeze sitting in the wings, I don't think I'd give Orgeron the ability to bring yet another OC in.

Regarding the Freeze thing, I think LSU is more likely to tell the SEC to go to hell now than it was last year if LSU really wants to hire him.

To me its not about scheme....they came up with a game plan, im sure SE thought it would work. I have no doubt he saw some things on film to think things he implemented would work. The problem is SE can not adjust his gameplan during the game. Look at how many games we started off moving the ball then nothing. The D adjust then SE cant make the necessary adjustments.

Fantastic question.

I'm gonna go against the grain here and say that Ensminger will not be the OC if that happens.

104th in the nation in offense is a glaring problem. Everyone knows it. I think they will come up w/ a way for Ensminger to graciously step aside and get another OC.

O either fixes it next year, or he's fricking out too.
