Looking through the candidates the R's all had goals and specific measures for what they wanted to accomplish. All of the Democrats just had the national talking points from the party in their profile. From national through the state reps. they all had the same message. She said there was no substance there and simply didn't trust that kind of groupthink.

The second part of it is that we have two younger kids and she has become much more financially and economically focused over the past four years or so. The deeper into the subject she gets there, the more she has been trending R.

Our district is NC-2, so it's pretty solidly red and has been growing at a massive rate. I think she sees the results and the success of the area, relates it to pretty much all republican reps in the area and doesn't want to change course.
