Has a thank you note been sent to USC and Pay Hayden for not hiring Coach O?

Now that Coach O is proving his worth to the LSU program, how's that move working out for USC with Sarkisian and now Helton as head coach?

You think Herman or the Pirate couldn't achieve similar results here?
Three years ago Miles was undefeated going into the Bama game.

I mean if we wanted, I'm sure we could put up a billboard. Seems like a thing we would do.

Which one? LSU or USC? Or Syracuse?

I think Tennessee may be in the dream job category as well.

Well he certainly turned down the LSU DL job for the same position at UT

He’d drop them all in a heartbeat for Miami

I suppose you had us at 7 wins at this time.

Herman has been underwhelming at Texas. Leach would be a huge roll of the dice. He might be a spectacular success or a spectacular failure. Jimbo is making the A&M boosters look like idiots. Fuente is laying an egg at VT. Has anybody heard from PJ Fleck lately?
Improbably, O is looking like the best of the bunch.

I expected 9-3, id say thats still kinda likely. 9-3 will not impress the fanbase in the long run. I wont be able to judge much on orgeron until aranda inevitably leaves. That hire will make or break him.
As we know, he doesnt do the coaching on either side of the ball. So the amount he provides is limited.

Texas was a dumpster fire under Charlie Strong. And before him under Mack, they were average at best since they won the National Championship in 2009. Herman has a lot of work to do buy he has them moving in the right direction.

Leachs' first 3 years at Washington State isn't anything to write home about, but that program never has been a consistent winning program. They had only gone to 9 bowl games in their 100 year history before Leach showed up. He's taken them to 4 bowl games in his first 6 years and has them eligible again this year.
Hiring Leach probably would be a huge roll of the dice, but what Leach has done in Pullman has been a fantastic job.

Fishers' first year at A&M, give him time. I think he'll be fine there. Look at o's first year at LSU. 9-4 record after playing one of the weakest SEC schedules in a couple of decades. Now in his second year, he has us ranked # 4 going into November. And remember, it truly is Fishers' first year at A&M, o on the other hand had been here for a few seasons. He was familiar with the program.
As far as Fuente or Fleck is concerned, neither one of them is lighting the world on fire at their respective schools, but in my opinion, any of the coaches you singled out in your post, would have just as much success, as o has had, if they would have been hired at LSU.
Provided they could have been able to keep Aranda. Just my opinion.

Coach O had only one chance to make it as a head coach in the FBS Power 5 divisions as head coach. His chance came in his home state and Joe A. going cheap on a head coach after firing Miles and paying him 10 million. No one else wanted O. And, O, as the football gods have decreed, may have given the man the perfect opportunity to start a true LA dynasty. "Go Tigers."

You call two losses on the year underwhelming?
Texas was an actual rebuild. Herman wasn't handed an elite defense.
