Marcus Spears Love Thread

I watched Marcus intercept Jason White for a touchdown in the Superdome with my father, my two brothers and my nephew - 3 generations of my family.
He's a broadcaster. Last week, they made McElroy talk about how Bama's record is overrated and OSU was more impressive (before the Purdue game). They always go out of their way to keep the hosts from being homers. Get over it and feel the love. FEEL IT!
I couldn't find a pic of the Marcus Spears billboard from back in the day, so here's this, from the Cowboy days, still repping LSU.
However, Marcus, if you (sit around all day smoking weed and) read this, we love you, but don't let the SECN become the Bama Network, a la the Longhorn network. It was a fatal business model then and it would be now. Being inexplicably forced to air that creepy, uninteresting gargoyle for several hours a day is bad enough. I and most others will not tune in to an increasing Bama circle-jerk every week.
Also, maybe lose a few pounds. It looks like you ate this dude.

I have to say, personally, if I were the SECN, I'd go the other way with it. Have at least one host, analyst, broadcaster, etc. who is a total homer for each team. McElroy can show up wearing a crown if he wants. "You don't like this crown? Come knock it off, punks."
That would be more fun and wouldn't alienate viewers. The honesty would be refreshing. I really think people would be more drawn to it.
I'd also like to see them talk about the SEC fantasy league I know they all play in. I've played in one for almost 20 years, and theirs is the only other one I've ever heard about.

I can't watch their show anymore. maybe i'll get over it, but they were towing the alabama company line. correct call, but the punishment was too harsh. B .S. I might could've tolerated that except they defended alabama's hit on Guarantano. no way. if white had launched into fitz, fitz would've been knocked out of the game and in concussion protocol. what you actually saw was white pulling up.

The SEC, however, is far too Bama loaded, but that's another argument. As for Marcus, I don't think the kid born in Baton Rouge was ever going anywhere else. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think that's what the "yesterday, today, tomorrow, forever" means. He and Clayton were a package deal, remember, and I think both knew they'd be headed for the pros from almost any school.

There's a lot of hate for Marcus on this board. I can see why, but I think much of it is unfounded. Marcus just tries a little too hard to be "objective" and not look like a homer. I have no doubt that he loves LSU. I hate that he still loves his former coach, but can you blame the guy? They won a championship together.

What do you guys expect him to do? If he sits there and give homer takes to LSU it can hurt his credibility. You guys need to wake up. He is still pro LSU. This fan base is full of unstable crybabies.
