Depths in Bayou Biloxi ?

Headed out to Biloxi Marsh this weekend, if weather cooperates, and want to anchor in Bayou Biloxi to stay out of the NW winds...
I draw 4.5', so want at least 6' of water...some have said there's plenty of water in there, others say not.
A poster here last year said a 80' charter boat from Mississippi goes 4 miles in.
Anyone know for sure?

I was in the Biloxi Marsh on Sunday and there was so much water I got the furthest back in Magnolia Lagoon than I ever have. It was full of redfish. Turned my son on to his first one.
So if that level stays, it's definitely the prime time to try that.

If you stay in the main bayou, you should not have a problem. Also, read the way the bayou runs. Inside turns are always skinny water. Were are you coming from?

Madisonville/Tchefuncte River.

You can also anchor right in the MRGO at the rocks. If there is a nw wind, you will be out of it.

That's a little far south for what I need (I think). My fishing boat is a 13' whaler, so I need to anchor 'mothership' pretty close to where I want to fish in protected waters.

Got you. Been a long time I had ran all the way out. There are some sand bars under the water. They did at one time had markers out there. Don't know if they are there now.
Or, are you going to come thru the Industrial Canal, down thru the MRGO to Hopedale?

I'll be coming through Rigolets, then cross Lake Borgne to Bayou Biloxi.

Keep a eye out for tripletails.

Yes plenty of depth for you to travel in Bayou Biloxi. We have a 65 ft Viking and don’t have any trouble going up all the way up and anchoring for the night.

True. We won't be on Borgne, only up in the marsh
Also have a full moon today, so tides should be greater as well next few days.

That much NW wind will blow out a lot of water. Check tide tables for high and low.

If you draw at 4.5' you have no need to be posting on tigerdroppings.

Here are the furthest areas South I would go in Bayou Biloxi. On the first link is where they dock a 120 mothership for duck hunting. I wouldn't go another 3/4 mile beyond that though because it will get shallow the further you go East.
29°58'21.8"N 89°30'24.0"W
29.972709, -89.506659

You can anchor anywhere South of those two areas with a 4.5 ft draft with no issues at all.
