I did some research to see what type of defenses, Bama has played so far. As most of you know, Bama has not scored fewer than 39 points against any team all year. So let's look at the rankings of their opponents' defenses: (PPG)

Missouri: 91st
Louisville: 104th
Arkansas: 101st
Tennessee: 89th
Ole Miss: 109th
Arkansas State: 91st
U-La-La: 114th
A&M: 29th

Now for the Bama defense. The most points allowed this year is 31 against Arkansas. Opponents' rankings for scoring offense:

Missouri: 20th
Louisville: 122nd
Arkansas: 91st
Tennessee: 89th
Ole Miss: 21st
Arkansas State: 78th
U-La-La: 47th
A&M: 47th

Summary: We obviously know that Bama will always play good defense, regardless of the opponent. However, I think there is a lot of uncertainty with their offense. I know they have big play makers and can run up the score quickly, but we have yet to see them against a top tier defense like LSU (and in death valley).

Conclusion: bama’s Schedule to date is poo poo. Saban knows it, the fans know it, the SEC knows it, and the media knows it. Bama in the playoff is good for business, and they can’t have their darling sit out. The bottom line is that if any team can keep Bama out of the playoffs, it’s LSU @ home. If we were playing at Bama this year, the call would have never been made in my opinion.

Bama's schedule

Louisville: 2-5
Arkansas St: 4-3
Ole Miss: 5-3
A&M: 5-2
ULL: 3-4
Arkansas: 2-6
Mizzou: 4-3
Tennessee: 3-4

That's an opponents record of 28-30. Or 48%

Now let's check LSU

Miami: 5-2
Southeastern: 3-5
Auburn: 5-3
La Tech: 5-2
Ole Miss: 5-3
Florida: 6-1
Georgia: 6-1
Miss St: 4-3

That's a 39-20 record or a 66% win percentage.

The teams Alabama have beaten have allowed $1,806 points in 58 games.... or 31 points allowed per

The teams LSU have played have allowed 1,315 combined points this season in 59 games, or 22 points per game.

Bama has played 1 ranked team - Texas A7M.

LSU has played 5. 2 at home, 2 on the road and 1 at a Neutral site.

It's not Bama's fault that Louisville and Tennessee aren't very good. I get that.

But, isn't it nice to get Tennessee and Mizzou as your SEC East opponents?

The fact of the matter is that they haven't played an elite defense yet. It's simply true.

Thank goodness we can settle this on the field, for once and for all...like the last six years.

This is stupid. Keep grasping at straws to try and prove that bama hasn't played anyone with a good defense so their offense is "uncertain".

I'll let you in on a little secret. Their offense is really frickin good and so is their QB.

In other years they have played some good out of conference competition

They probably didn't think Louisville would be horrible when they scheduled them

If they would have pulled someone decent instead of Louisville they would have still killed them IMO

I don't care if they played ULLAF every game this year. What Tua is doing is unprecedented. Cupcakes or not.

This is the first year that Bama's cupcake schedule isn't even bothering me.

Mainly because they're not even trying by the 4th quarter. It's already over in half a game.

LOL. Pointing out indisputable and relevant statistical facts is not "grasping at straws." Bama hasnt played an elite defense this year. That's just the truth.

The thing that interests me is the fact Arkansas was able to score 31 on them and Arkansas SUCKS and not all of that was against Bama's 3stars in the 4th

You using the schedule to say that their offense is uncertain or questionable is most definitely grasping at straws.

Some of you people are fricking delusional.

This x 1000

If LSU beats them it will be because of a historic defensive performance

Exactly. Their starters have been out by halftime a few times. Try this on for size.

"The Crimson Tide have outscored opponents 165-31 in the first quarter and 310-58 in the first half through eight games."

LINK

So Alabama is averaging 38.75 points in the first half this year. That ranks them 13th in the points per game stat in the NCAA.

For comparison, LSU is ranked 44th at 30.3 points per game.

I don’t think anyone is saying that Bama’s offense isn’t good. They are probably the best offense LSU will play all year just like LSU is probably the best defense they will play all year. During the LSU game the other night the announcers said Bama is going to put up 50 and it is up to lsu’s Offense to match that. That is BS. This defense isn’t giving up 50 points.

It will be in the 30s at minimum if I had to guess

We're going to have to get our stops when we can and win in a shootout
