Scared to death to find one after horror stories from the flood. Hard to know who sucks and who was just stretched thin due to the circumstance. Either way, few contractors came away unscathed. Looking for recs for a kitchen reno contractor. TIA

Just DIY.
If alcoholic baws that barely graduated high school can do it then you can too.
Order cabinets.
Get flooring laid.
Maybe hire plumber/electrician if you don't feel comfortable.

I wouldn't recommend trying a kitchen remodel as a DIY project unless you are pretty knowledgeable and know what you are doing..maybe try a bathroom first if you are that ambitious. Kitchens are the focal point of your house. If you plan on living in your house for the rest of your life and want to roll the dice and try it on your own that's one thing. If you plan on selling your house one day and want that pop or "wow factor" then spend the time and money on a reputable LICENSED contractor. You don't necessarily have to spend a bunch of money with one of these fancy designer firms. A decent experienced contractor can help out with design and what is practical/ affordable vs. what may be impractical and out of your budget. I would offer up myself, but i'm busy through the end of the year. Good luck!

Above ....
Its just floors, cabinets, a little plumbing, electrical and granite.
A good granite shop can hook ya up.
We used First Encounters, good folk

What are you having done? Any walls or demolition? Or just typical cabinets, paint, floor, tile, etc?

What’s your budget?
What do you want done?
I can help, and save you $.
not a licensed contractor but built 5 houses so far.

Just bought a house. Planning on being here a while. About 14 years old. Good bones. Want to update floors to heart pine. Kitchen cabinets. Counter tops. Fixtures. Paint. Appliances. Etc.
