Document EVERYTHING!!! Even time and dates of phone calls, who you spoke with, etc.
Do not pay the contractor until the work is completed. There’s going to be a lot of people trying to steal your insurance money.
Also, if you have to, the sba loan is great. if you ran a business out of your house, you will get more benefits.
Just be patient, it’s going to be a long hard process.
Edit: I just saw that you’re a contractor, keep good records of the work you’re doing.
