Hasn’t the big complaint on the F22 been that the amount of maintenance it requires is insanely high compared to the fighters it is replacing?

This seems to back that up if they couldn’t do rush jobs to get a few of these flyable to move inland before the hurricane hit.

Yes.

The melt over the damage to these planes is ridiculous. Original reports were "total loss" but that has since been debunked.

Yes and no.

The Obama administration discontinued F-22 production after <200 were built. It was a mistake. A production group that small is extraordinarily inefficient.
