I'm happy they've had the success they've had thus far this season, but objectively, if LSU goes 8-4 somehow, we are in the same position as we were 2.5 years ago when O took over.

I hope coach O goes undefeated every year and wins every game from now until he retires. But realistically, I don't believe he can have LSU as a perennial, legit playoff contender to the likes of Alabama, Ohio State or Clemson.

I think O's ceiling is NY6 bowls every other year (maybe some consecutive years thrown in there). It's not that I hate Coach O or hate LSU, but realistically, I don't trust him to be the man to lead this program to yearly playoff appearances.

I don't feel my opinion is outlandish.

Tell me what 3 regular season games you think we lose based on what we've seen so far

Asking to be a "perennial, legit playoff contender to the likes of Alabama, Ohio State, and Clemson" is pretty outlandish. You're basically saying you want us to be Bama as Ohio State and Clemson have the other "elite" coaches/recruiters in the game and are the gold standard of their conferences. Nobody is overturning Bama until Saban is literally dead and gone. Not Les. Not Todd. Not Jimbo.

Les Miles obviously wasn't getting us there and Jimbo while heading in the right track at A&M has so much work to do just to get 3rd in the West and wasn't worth the economic/ego commitment. From a purely "objective" standpoint, O is a pretty solid choice for someone to lead LSU moving forward.

Goal polls are steady moving but not in the direction y'all all thought they would be.

First he was going to fail miserably, LSU football was over, wouldn't win an SEC game again.

Then 8-4 was the norm for him just like Miles last few seasons.

Now it's well he'll only get us 10-2 like Miles did when he first took over. Might get us to the Sugar bowl or Orange bowl and playoff every once in a while. Lol it's funny as hell watching it all.
