ABC Regrets firing Roseanne, convinced The Conners will flop

Two senior executives at the network told the outlet that ABC President Channing Dungey’s decision to immediately fire the actress and cancel her show after she made racially charged comments about former Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett was a “knee-jerk” decision that they would later regret.
“We didn’t think it through properly. What Roseanne did was wrong but we shouldn’t have rushed to fire her. It was almost a knee-jerk reaction by Ben [Sherwood] and Channing [Dungey] who should have launched an investigation,” one insider reportedly said. “This would have given them more time to listen to the public, advertisers and cast members to determine the best decision.”

I noticed when all the shite went down a few months ago TV Land pulled all the Roseanne reruns immediately. This past weekend they were back on their weekend morning slot. People eventually move on. ABC is dumb. That show was #1 again the minute it was back on TV.

What if you view both as shooting your own dick off. It isn't like ABC didn't know how Roseanne acts and it's not like Disney hired Gunn without knowing the tweets. (I know I know they are both the Mouse)
Roseanne screwed up by making it hard to walk back and this being a world where it's ok to call Bush a chimp but a few shades down and it's all racism.
Gunn screwed up by still being a Troma writer before he got into the big leagues.
Neither is really offensive in the grand scheme but the mouse spoke.
