Texas has been putrid the last 5 years and A&M has been garbage since Manzell left. But they have the lead on this kid.

Both schools have new coaches who have a lot of buzz surrounding them and, rightly or wrongly, have coaches perceived to have eschewed the LSU prior to landing at those jobs. All the while LSU's coach has been perceived to be the guy who ended up with the LSU job as a result. All of this being being either said or implied by the media coverage. Could that be the driver?

If we agree that it is, or at least partly is, winning will change that narrative at least to some degree. Maybe enough to pull some of these kids back.

Monroe and Chaisson are from Houston Northshore. When we recruited and signed them, the noise from the Texas schools was that LSU had some alumi on the Northshore staff that steered kids to LSU? Were those claims true and if so, do they still exist?

I suspect Fisher is going to put Brewster and Peveto on this kid for the extra or behind the scenes work. Whoever the A&M RB coach is will be the public lead guy and Fisher will do his Gomer Pyle schtick which comes naturally to him but Brewster and Peveto will be the key guys. Hopefully these alleged LSU inside guy on the staff truly exist?

Makes sense. So, either start winning with Orgeron or get a new, big name coach to help sway recruits.
