Sounds like my Mom. Matter of fact, having Dad die this last January left her living alone in a large spread out house with not easy yard too.
Sooo...I moved in with her to help out, do the cooking, the main yard work, that house cleaning, that kinda stuff (I don't think I have encountered a heavier vacuum cleaner than there including Kirby and Rainbow and such).
One morning as I am on the computer doing the usual email, news, etc. routine, I glance out the window. There's Mom, at 79, on the very top of the step ladder, in the uneven loose gravel, wielding a set of shears, leaning over to lop off the single slim branch sticking out the top a rounded shrub!
She'd not told anyone anything about going out and wandering around the hilly, gravel covered, yard. The yard she and I have encountered several snakes, rats, bats, even bears! Simply that she had noticed that single lone slim branch about 5 inches long sticking out the top of the shrub and just had to risk life and limb to get it.
Really lucky that I looked up when I did. By the time I got out to her she was stuck! She got that limb but lacked the strength and balance to get back down the ladder!

I know your pain. A couple of years ago, dad posted some aerial shots of his garden on FB. After a quick interrogation, he finally admitted that he climbed his step ladder and got on top of his house to get the pictures. The back of that house was a good 30' off the ground. All I could do was shake my head and now I make the 4 hour trip every fall to clean out their gutters.

ETA: Mom had a heart attack going on 3 years ago now too BTW. 70% coronary artery blockage 2 locations at the time. Roto-router and snag clearing and she's really been fine ever since, plus a story to tell, and retell, and retell, again.

Glad your mom is okay. My mom had a heart attack in June and it was scary. She’s always been a very health conscious eater and is in great shape. She’s the last person I’d think of who would have a heart attack. You just never know I guess. She’s now in cardiac rehab and doing well. Best wishes to your mom. Great sense of humor!

Hey you got to have a sense of humor.
My father had a heart attack several years back. It was a couple of days before he had jury duty. He joked that he just really, really wanted to get out of jury duty.
