Do yal think that that 7 will continue on to be the 'playmker'??

I accept 18 ..

But I like players making names (and numbers) for themselves...

82 should be Chark, 16 should be Trev White, 82 Dickson..

Might not be popular, but I would be quietly happy this 7 thing ends...

I like 7, i love LSU .. but for me .. please continue not ..

I want to see some Highsmith and Trev FAulk's at LB; #7'S RB Mealey's etc!

Really it is kinda like the Boot - a pre-fab but really unnecessary piece of fluff.

Brossette should be number 7 this year. Or Delpit.

I don't mind it being a players tradition, but we wouldn't be having this conversation if Giles could catch a cold.

Why O gave a kid the #7 without playing a down is still puzzling to me especially after what LSU has had wearing it for the last 10 years
He still has time to live up to the hype that surrounds it but if you cant get open against SE louisana and la tech then doing it against UGA and Bama seems unrealistic.

The tradition diminished in meaning when it went from Leonard Fournette to DJ Chark.

It needs to be a skill players that makes a difference

Delpit or Greedy should've gotten it this year

18 should go to a team leader, and while Moreau is a team leader, I think White should've gotten it.

Right. Should have been Guice last year, and Greedy or White this year.

Perhaps they wanted their own number?

The tradition has more to do with being a dedicated hard worker, does it not, When Mauck passed it down to Hester, he was not yet a team leader, was he? (that's an honest question, my recollections are often hazy these days)

It's dumb and needs to end.

I feel like giving 7 to WRs was to make us excited about our passing offense. Thus killing the tradition.

Devin White/Rashard Lawrence/Fehoko/Delpit should be wearing 7.

Kinda like that running back a few years ago that got it without playing a single down of college ball? What was his name again-- Fourcade, Forsomethimg... oh yeah Fournette.

Let the players pick the number they like. These "secret" meaning or extra special numbers do nothing but single out a guy. Team leaders will be team leaders, regardless of number. Special players will be special, regardless of number. It's a "tradition" whose time has passed.

I can take or leave the "special" numbers; however if they continue, those numbers should be earned while playing for LSU not another school. Yes that includes LF7 as well...just my two cents.

Woah woah woah. Chark was a class act and won us the Auburn game. He’s not in the same planet as Giles.

I think O promised him number 7 to get him to come here. It was his doing alone. It's not a team vote (or is it?)

Mauck didn’t pass down the number to Hester

Matt Mauck and Jacob Hester never played together.

Whatever magic #7 had, Giles has killed it.

It's a players thing . They should vote on it ..not sure why fans care at all

Giles has to sit as this point regardless

Feels like the fans fixate on it a bit too much maybe.

Guess we're all bored and reaching to make everything a Big Deal
