The thing is, Alabama never has a game like this. It is the thing that puts Nick Saban on another level from every other coach in college football. All the other good teams will come up with the occasional clunker (like Oklahoma last night against Army, Penn State in the opener against Appalachian State, Ohio State last year at Iowa, etc.), where they're favored by three scores or more and sleepwalk their way to a loss or a narrow escape. It is Saban's most remarkable achievement that he has Alabama ready to play and dialed in every single week, whether they are playing Ohio State or Ohio Wesleyan. Teams do occasionally manage to beat Alabama, but it's never because they managed to "catch them napping" or got their B- game. I don't think Alabama has a B- game.

Obviously, we're not there. But neither is anyone else outside of Tuscaloosa. You've just got to tip your hat.
