I can’t watch a sport and not have a “home team.” As Louisiana residents, which MLS teams do you get behind?

first problem is MLS teams. Follow an EPL team if you're looking for actual good and enjoyable soccer. If you wanna stick with the MLS I suggest following the Houston Dynamo. Houston is most likely the closest destination to BR or south Louisiana

No. If you can enjoy watching any of the non-top 5 leagues in Europe, then you can enjoy MLS.

It entertaining but it’s still not good football

It’s fun to watch these old dudes from Europe and young South Americans come and dominate

And the lulz bc the rest of the quality is bad is entertaining

Homey forgot to mention the young Americans who play well here and use that as a springboard to Europe. And the old European trope is just that, old. It’s a lazy stereotype used by the league’s detractors. The average age of European designated players (players that don’t count against the salary cap) has been getting lower and lower over the past several years. Is MLS European top league quality? No, but few leagues are. Considering MLS has been around about 100 years less than the major European leagues, I think its quality is actually pretty good and I find the games to be entertaining.

Not many quality young Americans who spring board to Europe yet

Other than McKennie and Yedlin

Our best guys still are getting their football education abroad

As for trying to get away from old European players coming here

We are seeing Ibra and Rooney completely dominate

Zlatan is scoring at roughly the same rate as he did before coming to MLS. He's score 17 in 22 games this year. He scored 17 in 28 for Man U in 2016/17.

But are there any besides Zlatan, Villa, and Rooney that are really doing well in MLS? 3 players out of 23 teams? And I believe Villa is retiring after this season.

Miazga was a starter for NYRB, Adams is going to Leipzig after this season, EPB signed with Man City from SKC, Geoff Cameron went to the EPL from MLS about 6 years ago, Michael Bradley started in MLS, Reggie Cannon will make the jump soon if he keeps this up, Ledezma is about to go to PSV, etc.

There's a ton of guys from MLS academies that are getting picked up by European teams but are still maybe a year away from breaking into their club's 1st team (Soto, etc).

If you like losing, but want one of the best group of supporters in the MLS, come jump on the Orlando City wagon.

If you want to watch a fun, built correctly, new team, follow Atlanta United. They are really good, and building a franchise the right way with all of their young South Americans.

LAFC has been really fun this year, and it’s impossible to not like Zlaten.

there are teams in England and Spain that can afford the best.

Paris st Germaine has Mbappe, neymar and Cavani.
Firepower.
I bet those three alone make more than any two whole mls squads.

Its ok to follow evenly matched mls teams. Just turn on the Germans, brits and Spanish now and then.

The best baseball players in the world go to mlb. Not Japan.
