What is more likely: Burrow throws for 2,800 or brossette goes for 1,300 yards?

For the record if either happens that means we had a really good year. and obviously the chances of either happening are slim.
Both would place them in the top 5 all time in yards at the positions they play(in a season).
I figured we could use a change up from the same topic threads over and over.
Also, I think many would say brossette has the better chance, but that would be the 5th best rushing season in history and better than Faulk ever did.

prob Brossette, i could see him going off against Ole Miss and Arky

I don't think either is likely.
Brossette for 1,300 is definitely the more likely between the two though.

Taking a bowl into account.
Burrow is on pace for 2,340 yards based on a 13 game season.
Nick Brossette is on pace for 1,434 based on a 13 game season.
Math says Brossette is more likely to meet the goals you set.

Also would anyone have guessed Davey has the best yards passing season in history? I was just a kid, but I never would have guessed that. Russell would have been my guess. He is 2nd.

Burrow threw for 150 the first two games. No way that SHOULD happens again this year two games in a row.
Also, yes post regular season games count for single season records according to NCAA

I'll go Burrow for 2800.
Brosette will need to average 108 yards per game the rest of the way to get to 1300 yards. I think he's been great so far, but I'm really hopeful that some of the other running backs start stepping up and lessening his load.
Burrow will need to average 251 yards per game to get to 2800. He got 249 against a pretty stout Auburn defense and he missed a lot of throws that I think he'll start connecting on. I really think we're just scratching the surface as far as what he can do and he's going to get better and better every week.

I’d say Burrow because I think we are going to have to pass more against Bama, Georgia, Miss St, etc

I watched it happen. Ro could roll up the yards.
fun fact: 2002 was the first year bowl stats were added to season totals. so the yardage total that gets posted for Ro's '01 season is missing the 400+ he put up in the Sugar Bowl that year. he damn threw for 4000 yds as a senior. he's waaaay out in front.
along the same lines, Faulk ran for 1000 his freshman year including the bowl game, but ppl counted Fournette as the first 1000 yd true freshman RB we had (though he needed his bowl to get to 1000).

Rohan had Josh Reed though.

I’d have to say Burrow, though I believe both are possible and after the next two weeks you’ll know more than likely whether Brosette will crack 1,300 or not. Burrow will most likely have to have his bigger games, yardage wise, in the middle to back half of the schedule.
Tech and Ole Miss are vulnerable to the run, and while we want to continue to gel with the pass game it’s probably best to run and get up a couple of scores early then put them away with a couple of pass heavy drives in the second quarter.

brossette. He's already at 331 yards through 3 games. can't wait to tell people I told you so about him.
ETA: I've rethought this, and if Burrow goes for 2800+, then Brossette wil EASILY break 1300

I think brossette has a decent shot 1,300 yards. A big game against Tech would have him on that pace after playing miami and at auburn in 2 of his 4 games. I like CEH in space or out of the wildcat, but its Brossette’s turn to carry the load this year based on what we have seen so far. As strange as it sounds he reminds me more of a Jacob Hester consistantly moving the ball forward instead of a homerun threat.

If Brossette gets over 120 this weekend and doesn't get hurt this year, hitting the 1,300 yard mark could be really viable. Ole Miss, Rice, and A&M are all giving up over 6 yards per play. Arkansas is better at yards per play than that but haven't played an offense worth a shite while giving up 20, 34, and 44 points respectively. Florida gave up 303 yards rushing against Kentucky and Kentucky averaged 7.4 yards per carry. Obviously, Bama, Georgia, and State all have pretty great defenses but Brossette did well against Miami and logged 69 against Auburn so it isn't like we should just assume he will be completely shut down in those games.

Neither is likely. We will continue to use a committee approach at RB. It is more likely CEH steals more carries as season progresses. 1,300 is absolutely absurd. 2800 yards passing. Yeah maybe 2,000. That would be a very great season. Mettenberger didn’t pass for 2800+ yards and he had OBJ and Jarvis Landry. We will get better numbers out of Burrows than we did Etling which is a plus but we don’t throw the ball that much to get over 2500 yards in one season nor do we need to do that.

I would say Brossette at this point of the season.
