Because they want the Pelicans to suck so that they'll blow it up. This would mean AD goes to a big-market team (Lakers, Celtics, etc.) and the media goes crazy

That's exactly why.
and some idiots say things just to get ratings or clicks.
and some idiots think Cousins played on our team last year all season, and that he simply tore his ACL.
Most people in the media are clueless about the Pels, and are only interested in getting AD to join one of the big market teams. Just ignore them.

Your exactly right! This is why I’m also not 100% committed to the NBA. This stuff gets exhausting! Like every player not playing in the LA, New York, or Boston wants to play there. Like they can’t afford to visit there.
