All in one dive certification trip

Does anyone have any experience with a dive certification shop that does the check out dives in a weekend/couple day trip? I have found some in Panama City that do the checkout dives after you complete online class through their website. Just wondering if y’all have any personal experience on something like this instead of going to a local place here in BR to do the classroom portion then doing a checkout dive?

When I did my certification, we did class followed by pool work. I believe we meet once or twice a week for a few weeks. I am not sure I would recommend doing everything online and then just going and jumping in the water for a check out dive.

PADI and SDI are going more and more online classes. My OW and AOW were both online and my Rescue is online. There are still required confined water and open water dives to meet the requirements. I don't know if they can do a Saturday confined water and Sunday Open water...but if they can..that's definitely the fast track way...not saying good or bad about it...it's just fast track. Lots of folks don't really teach dive tables anymore with the more popular use of conservative and affordable dive computers.
I've dove with Panama City Dive Center (Loved those guys!!) and Diver's Den (not a bad op...just a smaller boat..and the boat captain can be surly). I'm sure there are others...those have been the ones I've had experience with.

Both shops in BR do weekend classes plus checkouts.

Small Hope Bay dive resort on Andros, Bahamas. Small Hope Bay Lodge
My daughter and I finished our OW certifications there after completing the online work at home.
My son has completed his Advanced and Rescue Diver certifications there after doing all of the online work at home.
Almost all dive shops that have instructors and offer certifications will allow online work in advance.

I got my c card at a local shop with a weekend class and pool work then a weekend open water the next month as part of the instruction package. It worked well and I felt comfortable when I went on my first recreational dive in Mexico.
Now a few years later I went on a dive trip to the keys and took AOW while there. The package they offered was really a bargain when figuring how much the dives were going to cost separately from the class. They were pretty good dives too and didn’t have much dedicated instruction that took away from exploring. I think it was wreck, drift, UW navigation.

I did my certification through /harry's in the mid 80's
We met a couple nights a week for a few weeks
with a lot of swimming work.
Did our checkout dive in I believe it was Vortex Springs a couple weeks later .
I would do it again in a heartbeat

That's where I did my OW at. Then on to PCB for some wreck dives....Red Sea and later the "Hovercraft".

I did mine in Crystal River Florida. Highly highly recommended. No pool dives and tons of wildlife.

we did a cave dive down to the source of the spring and then did a wreck dive or vice versa...that was over 30 years ago.
