Is this year finally the end of the line for Jason Garrett?

I don’t see any real weapons on offense other than Zeke. The defense is pretty pedestrian outside of a good pass rush. The guy has always been underwhelming, imo. What is the record he needs to hang onto his job?

How long do they pretend that Dakota is a franchise qb?

Probably. They’re going to win less than 6 games
But he probably doesn’t deserve it THIS YEAR. Not his fault the team decided to go without WRs this year

Probably
I’ll be interested in the coaching search as it’s the first time people other than Jerry (Stephen and McClay) will have a significant day in the hiring process.

I hope so. Seems to be the NFC’s version of Marvin Lewis though

I don't think it's a coincidence that Garrett shares his first name with Jason Voorhees from the Friday the 13th franchise. Both are immortal and will never die.

It's my only real hope for the season

Sadly no. Who are some good HC candidates for next season?

Garrett is really just doing what Jerry tells him. Till Jerry gets out of the way, he's the best they can attract.

When Payton is ready, he will be fired.

Everyone knows this is why he was hired. He's always been jerry's bitch.
Dak gets 1 more season after this one?

I don't blame Garrett for the terrible personnel decisions. I don't blame Garrett for putting all their hopes on Dak Prescott. I don't blame Garrett for our best receiver being Cole fricking Beasley. The Cowboys problems start and end with management.

What's his role in those decisions? He has to have some say. He's been with the Cowboys since 2007, head coach since 2011.

I seriously doubt the Jones clan allow Garrett any say in decision making. That's why he was hired. He's a yes man.

I find that hard to believe. But we'll never know for sure.

I agree we will never know for sure. I believe that if Jerry Jones wasn't such an egomaniac and just been an owner, Jimmy Johnson would have built the greatest dynasty in the history of the NFL. But Jerry cant help himself.

Urban Meyer

Is Jerry still the owner? Is he still an egomaniac completely unable to say "my bad?" Then jason Garrett may coach this team until they are winless for two consecutive years.

Most Cowboys fans hope so
we are in an awkward spot of rooting for failure so Jerry will fire him
