Most places it’s part of their responsibility not to overserve.

And their father is dead so frick you.

But just a fun fact, Louisiana puts 100% of the reaponbility on the person consuming the alcohol unless they are underage.

Seems like personal responsibility should be much more of a factor than a bartender trying to gauge how drunk someone is in a bar.

No need to appeal to emotion my guy. It’s a fair thing to question. The bar had nothing to do with it and it’s not like the woman couldn’t have bought the same liquor in a Walmart and had the same thing happen.

How about some personal responsibility? You think money is going to bring him back? It’s a sad situation but entirely the responsibility of Berman’s drunk wife.

Oh and btw, SammyTiger, frick you.

Criminal liability for over-serving is well settled but it's usually a misdo.

Civil liability is a different matter in most states.

A responsibility to the patron, not others.

Tough shite, go mourn him. He was 87 and living on borrowed time anyway. Money from a restaurant won't bring him back.

Thats stupid and only because they have deeper pockets than 99.9% of the people that they “over serve”

I’m sorry for that but that doesn’t mean they should be able to sue a restaurant
