I'm really not sure how people miss this little tid bit. It's not even close.

What was the average starting field position in 2007 versus 2013? What was the average halftime score? These things impact QB stats.

I'm sorry to tell LSU fans, but Beckham and Landry were the main reasons why Mett even looked close to as good as his stats were.

Flynn was actually not a great QB. He was serviceable, but his efficiency was super poor (too many ints, low cmp%, very low ypa).

And in the sme breath you're also telling us they would've had same stats with JJ, JL, Jennings, or Harris.
QB and WR have a symbiotic relationship and Mett usually made good reads, followed with catchable balls.

Burrow is a Flynn type with a better accuracy. He is not really comparable to Mettenberger.

At throwing the ball yes, but trying to get away from a rush was pitiful to watch with those boat feet he has.

IDK why people keep saying Flynn was better than Mett. He was the best passer LSU has had in my lifetime.

How have big 12 QBs faired against SEC defenses in the last ten years? Because that’s probably a more relevant stat
