You do know that the Boers settled the area (mostly uninhabited) in the early 1600's right?
People won't acknowledge this fact, or the fact that it was largely unsettled, nor the fact that this land has been claimed and made productive over generations.
Well, there is the complication that almost nothing he posted is true.

The Dutch did not arrive until the 1650s, and for more than a century their presence was essentially limited to a few outposts for resupply of their ships sailing around the Cape. The (limited) land that they occupied was purchased from Khoisan peoples. They started farming that land (and immigrating farmers) in order to feed the outposts and provide supplies to their ships. As evidence that the local population was sparse, they used slave labor, but actually imported most of their slaves from Indonesia and India. Of course, they may also have avoided any attempt to enslave the Khoisan because they were outnumbered and far from home ... much as North American colonists did not have success enslaving Amerindians.

The most productive farmland is actually in the Transvaal and Orange Free State, and the Boers did not move there until AFTER 1800, which was done to leave the territory lost by the Dutch to the English as a result of the Napoleonic Wars. Basically, the Boers were moving into this area at about the same time Americans were moving into the Northwest Territory in appreciable numbers.

Imagine expropriation of land in Nebraska, in order to “compensate“ a Plains Indian tribe. Now, imagine someone arguing “but white people had been there since 1607 (Jamestown), when (in fact) no white man ever laid his eyes on Nebraska until more than 200 years after that date.

The interesting point is that Transvaal and Orange Free State WERE largely empty. The area HAD been populated by a Bantu people, but they had just lost a war with another Bantu people based in modern Zimbabwe. That war had left the area somewhat depopulated. The Boers moved-in and then fought a war with those proto-Zimbabweans for control of the area .. and won.

The large Bantu populations in those provinces moved into the area AFTER the Bantu-Boer wars. Then they proceeded to out-breed the Afrikaners.

We will have another “south Africa” thread tomorrow, and the same set of uninformed yahoos will post the same non-historical drivel on that thread as well, because they read it on InfoWars or Gateway Pundit. Why? Because (for the most part) uninformed people will choose to remain uninformed, if doing otherwise will shatter their preconceptions.

I wonder if you could corroborate any of this. It wouldn't surprise me if they are educated to some standard but the way this was worded sounds like it was pulled out of your arse.

It is hilarious to watch you Proggies say shite like this.

So when Obama was there a couple of months ago cheering this on, he was doing that for you and your ilk?

Nothing like some white genocide to get you all excited.

Ah yes, just like the "white privilege" nonsense.

"We just want you to acknowledge it!"

As if that makes any difference

If it doesn't make any difference why are you applauding the South African shout out?

The genocide piece? I don't know what to think yet.

However, the govt sanctioned actions are appalling enough. Watching Obama cheer it on and the left defend it is as predictable as the sun rising in the east.

PS - No I don't think we should take action as a country as we have enough here..

PSS - No, I don't think we should take any refugees either.

I've never applauded the shout out. I've simply said it's a problem for everyone in SA.

Nah, I left the Proggy plantation several years ago. Most of my "friends" cut me off when that happened. Voting R for the first time in 2020. Can't wait too, especially because of folks like you.

Those white farmers are not educated. So why should America want them? If they are not educated, they are equal to Hispanics that want to come here.

These aren't subsistence farmers. These are large operations with dozens to hundreds of employees, in many cases with their own medical clinics and schools. You don't think these guys are educated?

This is worth discussing. The limited coverage of this issue would have us believe that this program is targeting yoeman farmers who work their small ancestral tracts with one old tractor, two mules and a brood of blonde-haired Boer children.

In fact, the program is targeted at huge operations encompassing 25,000 acres or more. The recent news described a “farm,” but neglected to mention that the land was not actually a cultivated “farm,” but rather a huge game ranch selling packaged hunts.

None of that excuses uncompensated expropriation of private property, but it does demonstrate the degree to which the issue is being oversimplified by/for the extreme Right.

This is the point I have been hammering home, this is going to be a dual-track genocide: the white population is being destroyed now, and the natural game population will be liquidated next. The game farms give the animals intrinsic value and return money to the local populace through jobs. That disappears when the incompetent and corrupt government machine takes over. No more game farms, no more hunters traveling to spend money, no more reason to protect and grow the animal resource and no more wages so the animals will suffer. Mark my words South Africa is about to go the way of Kenya and the animal devestation we are about to see is sickening to all interested n conservation.

uhhhh guys, do we really know if this is true or trump assumes it is true based upon what he saw on tv? sure, SA is seizing land but it is not true that farmers are being killed as implied. there is unrest there but before we jump on this lets make sure it is true.
