So far he is 6-2 in the sec as lsu's head coach. He was literally one win away last year from winning the sec. Still a ways to go, but not the dumpster fire you project it to be

He was 6-2 against the worst SEC this century. He had a historic loss to an decent but not great State team. LSU once again was never a serious threat to beat Bama. He lost at home to Troy. While not an sec game, let’s not pretend that did not happen.

If his 6 SEC wins only two came against teams that did not fire and replace their head coach. And of those two, Ole Miss gave he interim. Coach the job because they are on probation and no decent coach would come. And even Auburn was contemplating firing Gus before he beat Bama.

So, let’s not act like 6-2 last year was some tremendous accomplishment. It was actually a bit disappointing
